Envy 5000 all in one printer

My printer is printing out blank pages when not requested at different times of day and night. This is using all my monthly allowance up. I have the printer plugged in to one wall socket but it’s still doing it . Printer status  report finds no problems. I’m running printer off wireless BT modem.

ready to switch off and buy a new one unless I can get help

Let's try a power reset on the printer

 

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

 Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hi 

I have moved my printer to a different room and followed your instructions. I have also plugged it into a new separate socket. I will let you know how it  goes in the next 24 hours .
