Hi @suewilton,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the HP OfficeJet Pro 9720 Wide Format All-in-One Printer (including the 9720e model) doesn't support custom paper sizes directly through the printer software. However, there are workarounds to achieve printing on 7 x 10 inch cards:

Option 1: Use a custom paper size setting in your program

  1. Open the document you want to print on 7 x 10 inch cards.
  2. Go to the "File" menu and select "Print" or "Print Setup".
  3. Click on "Properties" or "Preferences" for your printer driver settings.
  4. Look for a "Custom Paper Size" option. This may vary depending on your program.
  5. Enter the dimensions for 7 x 10 inches (width: 7 in, height: 10 in).
  6. Save the settings and try printing again.

Option 2: Print with scaled borders

  1. Create your document in a program like Microsoft Word or Adobe Photoshop.
  2. Set the document size to a standard size that fits within the printer's margins, such as A4 or Letter.
  3. Design your content within the printable area, leaving enough space around the edges for future trimming.
  4. Print the document on plain paper.
  5. After printing, carefully cut the document down to the desired 7 x 10 inch size.

Important things to consider:

  • Make sure you choose the correct paper type in your printer settings for the card stock you're using.
  • Since the printer doesn't natively support 7 x 10 inch cards, you might experience some alignment issues. Experiment with margins and test prints on regular paper before printing on your card stock.
  • Manually cutting the cards might not always result in perfectly straight edges. You can use a paper cutter for a cleaner finish.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
