Hi @Sholave,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you have a change in broadband providers that could be causing the Wi-Fi connection issue for your HP ENVY 4500 printer. Here are some steps to help you reconnect the printer to your new Wi-Fi network:

1. Check Wi-Fi Settings

  • SSID and Password: Ensure you are using the correct Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. Double-check that your printer is trying to connect to the right network.
  • Frequency Band: The HP ENVY 4500 is compatible with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks, so make sure your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz signal (some modern routers broadcast both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, but the printer only works with 2.4 GHz).

2. Reset Network Settings on Printer HP printer setup (Wi-Fi network)

  • Reset the Printer’s Wi-Fi Settings: This can help the printer forget the old connection and allow you to set up a new one. To do this:
    1. Turn on the printer.
    2. On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless button.
    3. Select Settings, then choose Restore Network Defaults.
    4. Confirm the reset and the printer will be ready to set up with your new network.

3. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  • Wi-Fi Setup using HP Smart or Printer’s Control Panel:
    • Using HP Smart: If you have the HP Smart app installed on your device, open the app, select your printer, and follow the prompts to set up the Wi-Fi connection.
    • Using Control Panel: On the printer, press the Wireless button and select Settings or Wireless Setup Wizard. Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password.

4. Reboot Devices

  • Power Cycle the Router and Printer: Unplug your router for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Do the same for the printer. After rebooting, attempt to reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi.

5. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Make sure your printer has the latest firmware. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or visit the HP website to manually update the printer’s firmware.

6. Disable Router's AP Isolation (if applicable)

  • Some routers have a feature called AP Isolation, which can prevent devices from communicating with each other on the network. Check your router’s settings to ensure this feature is disabled.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
