Hello,
I am using the printer DeskJet 3630 and I can't seem to connect my mac or my phone to it. I have tried printing out the information of the network but it says that the WiFi-Direct name and password are hidden when I print out the page. I have also printed out the Wireless network test results, but that does not help me in any way other than having a pin that can work for 5 minutes, but I can't find where to connect to the printer so the PIN is useless for now. What should I do, thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @NathFrett ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble connecting your HP DeskJet 3630 to your Mac and phone. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot:
1. Check Printer Network Settings
- Print a Network Configuration Page: This will provide details about your network and the printer’s IP address.
- Verify WiFi Direct Settings: If the WiFi Direct name and password are hidden, you might need to enable or configure them.
2. Reset Network Settings
- On your DeskJet 3630, go to the settings menu and look for the network settings or wireless setup options. Choose the option to reset or restore network settings to default. This can help if there’s a configuration issue.
3. Reconnect to WiFi Network
- On the Printer: Use the printer’s control panel to reconnect to your WiFi network. You may need to enter your WiFi password.
- On Your Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Click the + button to add a printer. Your DeskJet 3630 should appear in the list if it's connected to the same network as your Mac.
4. Check Printer Software and Drivers
- Update Software: Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start software. Download it from the HP website or the Mac App Store.
- Install Drivers: Sometimes, downloading the latest drivers from the HP website can resolve connectivity issues.
5. Connect via WiFi Direct (if needed)
- Enable WiFi Direct: Go to the printer’s control panel and enable WiFi Direct.
- Find the Printer’s Network: On your Mac or phone, search for available WiFi networks and select the one corresponding to your printer’s WiFi Direct name.
- Enter the PIN: Use the PIN provided by the printer to complete the connection.
6. Check for Interference
- Ensure Close Proximity: Make sure the printer is close to your router to avoid signal issues.
- Minimize Interference: Other electronic devices and walls can affect the signal strength. Try to place the printer in an optimal location.
7. Restart Devices
- Restart Your Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Restart Your Router: Unplug your router, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.
- Restart Your Mac and Phone: This can help reset network settings and connections.
