Hi~

I just moved to a new place and want to connect my printer to the internet again. I had no problem connecting it to the internet while using the HP Smart Printer app, but now that the app has been updated, I can no longer find the setting window for internet connection.

When I long-press the WIFI and Cancel buttons, a wifi connection named "HP-Setup>A1-Ink Tank Wireless" appears. When I connect my computer to this wifi, I am able to connect my computer to the printer, and printing can go smoothly, but I cannot use the internet. Once I switch my wifi connection to a regular one, my printer gets disconnected. That means my computer cannot be connected to the internet and my printer at the same time

Can someone tell me how I can solve this problem?

Thanks~

Hi @LouiseLuo

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here’s how you can get your Ink Tank Wireless 410 connected to your new Wi‑Fi network so that both your printer and computer stay online together:

Step 1: Restore Wi‑Fi Setup Mode on the Printer

  1. Make sure the printer is powered on.
  2. Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for about 5 seconds.
  3. The Wireless light will start blinking, which means the printer is now in setup mode.

Step 2: Connect Using the HP App

  1. On your Windows computer, install and open the HP App.
  2. In the app, select Add Printer.
  3. The app will search for printers in setup mode. Your printer should appear in the list.
  4. Select your printer, then follow the on‑screen instructions to connect it to your home Wi‑Fi network.
    • You will be asked to enter your Wi‑Fi password.
    • Once connected, the Wireless light on the printer will stop blinking and remain solid.

Step 3: Confirm Connection

  1. Print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer:
    • Press and hold the Wireless button until the light blinks, then release.
    • The printer will print a report showing the connection status.
  2. Ensure the report shows that the printer is connected to your home Wi‑Fi.

Step 4: Add Printer to Windows

  1. On your computer, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select Add a printer or scanner.
  3. Choose your Ink Tank Wireless 410 from the list.
  4. Complete the setup so the printer is available whenever your computer is connected to the internet.

By following these steps, your printer will connect directly to your home Wi‑Fi network. That way, your computer can stay connected to the internet while also communicating with the printer, without needing to switch networks.
