@CBNT1992, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP DeskJet 2842e All-in-One Printer.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

If your HP DeskJet 2842e All-in-One Printer is having trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1. Restart Devices:

    • Power off your printer, computer, and router. Wait for a few seconds, then turn them back on. This can resolve many connectivity issues.
  2. Check Wi-Fi Signal:

    • Ensure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router and the network signal is strong. Avoid placing the printer near devices that may interfere with wireless signals, such as microwaves or cordless phones.
  3. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi:

    • On the printer's control panel, make sure the wireless light is on and steady, which indicates a connection with the wireless network. If it is blinking, the printer is not connected to the wireless network.
    • Use the HP Smart app to assist in reconnecting the printer to your network:
      • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
      • Select the option to add a new printer.
      • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
  4. Update Printer Firmware:

    • Ensure that the printer's firmware is up to date. Check the HP Support website for any available firmware updates for your printer model.
  5. Reset Network Settings:

    • Reset the printer’s network settings to prepare for a clean reconnection:
      • Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the wireless light starts blinking.
  6. Manually Set IP Address:

    • Assign a manual IP address to the printer using your router's settings or the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
