Hello Betty. Thanks for responding. I'm using an HP ENVY 6032e printer. It has gone offline frequently since I exchanged it under warranty because of a similar problem with the previous  printer. I have also noticed that when IO use the HP doctor app my printer is described as "scan only" though it still prints docs from my laptop.

This is clearly a common problem but very annoying. Your help will be appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

Let's reset the Printer: 1. Lift the cartridge access door to expose the cartridge area. 2. While the cartridge access door is open, press and hold (the Power button) and Wireless button on the back of the printer for three seconds.

 

Once done, then try connecting the Printer again.
