Hi @Pella1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're having trouble with your Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac Wi-Fi adapter on your HP laptop. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.

Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can fix connectivity issues.

Check Device Manager:

  • Press Win + X and select "Device Manager."
  • Expand the "Network adapters" section.
  • Right-click on "Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter" and select "Update driver."
  • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software" and follow the prompts.

Reinstall the Driver:

  • In Device Manager, right-click on the Realtek adapter and choose "Uninstall device."
  • Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver upon reboot.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Check Wireless Settings:

  • Make sure the wireless adapter is enabled. Press Win + I to open Settings, then go to Network & Internet > Wi-Fi and ensure Wi-Fi is turned on.

Check Hardware Switch: Some laptops have a physical switch or function key (e.g., Fn + F2) to enable/disable the wireless adapter. Make sure it's turned on.

Check Power Management Settings:

  • In Device Manager, right-click on the Realtek adapter and select "Properties."
  • Go to the "Power Management" tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

Reset Network Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  • Click on "Network reset" and follow the prompts. This will reinstall network adapters and set everything back to default.

BIOS Update: Sometimes updating your laptop’s BIOS can resolve hardware issues. Check the HP support website for BIOS updates for your laptop model.

Check for Interference: Ensure there are no physical obstructions or interference sources around your laptop that could be affecting the wireless signal.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
