HP ENVY 5000 All-in-One Printer series. I changed my network provider. The printer wireless setup won't let me enter special characters in my new network. I need help reconnecting.

Hi @glgrant
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
When you change your network provider, you need to reconnect your HP ENVY 5055 printer to the new Wi-Fi network. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you reconnect your printer:
Reconnecting Your Printer
Ensure the Printer is On:
- Make sure your printer is powered on and in a ready state.
Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode:
- For printers with a touchscreen control panel, touch the Wireless icon, and then touch the Settings icon. Select Restore Network Settings or Restore Network Defaults, and confirm your choice when prompted.
- For printers without a touchscreen control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time for five seconds until the power light flashes, indicating that the network settings are reset.
Connect the Printer to Your New Network Using HP Smart App:
Let's use the HP Smart App to set up your printer on the new network. This method is straightforward and facilitates finding and connecting your printer to new Wi-Fi networks.
Install and Open HP Smart App:
- For Windows:
- Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
- For mobile devices:
- Download the app from 123.hp.com on Android or iOS.
Add Your Printer to HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart App and click the + sign to add a new printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to detect your printer. Ensure your mobile device or computer is on the same network you want to connect the printer to.
Enter Network Information:
- The HP Smart App will prompt you to enter your new network's SSID and password. Make sure to include special characters as necessary.
Complete Setup:
- Follow the remaining on-screen prompts to complete the wireless setup.
In case the above steps do not allow you to enter special characters, verify if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve issues related to wireless connectivity.
