Hi @Mac19761,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I get how refreshing it feels when your printer seamlessly reconnects to Wi‑Fi, and how stressful it can be when it doesn't. Let’s walk through simple, confident steps to get your ENVY 6458e back online:

Step 1: Restore Wi‑Fi Setup Mode

This resets the printer’s wireless settings and activates setup mode:

  • On the back of the printer, press and hold the Wireless button for about 3–5 seconds (you might hear a beep or notice the light blinking).

Step 2: Connect Using HP App

Most reliable option:

  1. Ensure your phone or PC is connected to the same Wi‑Fi network you want the printer to join.
  2. Open or install the HP app.
  3. Tap + Add Printer or Set Up a New Printer; the app should detect your ENVY 6458e in setup mode.
  4. Follow the in-app prompts to enter your Wi‑Fi password.
  5. When the printer’s Wireless light stops blinking and stays blue, it’s connected!.

Optional: Use WPS (if your router supports it)

  1. Press the WPS button on your router.
  2. Within 2 minutes, press and hold the ENVY’s Wireless button until it blinks.
  3. Wait, once the light turns solid blue, you’re online.

Step 3: Confirm Connection

  • A solid blue Wireless light means success.
  • Print a Wi‑Fi Network Test Report from the printer’s menu or via HP Smart to confirm full connectivity.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
