Hi @Susanjh9,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you need help reconnecting your HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-In-One Printer to your new Wi-Fi router. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
So we need to restore the printer network back to defaults and connect it to your new Wi-Fi router. Please follow the below steps to reconnect the unit to Wi-Fi.
Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer:
- Use the Wireless button on the back of your printer to restore Wi-Fi setup mode.
- On the back of the printer, press and hold the Wireless button
for five seconds.
- NOTE: Your control panel might look different than the following example, but the steps are the same.
- Wait for the Status light to turn purple.
- Within two hours, return to the app or software to find and add your printer and complete the setup.
- Once you restore the network to defaults, then please follow the instructions on this link to connect the printer back to your PC.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Susan,
After following the steps to put the printer back in Wi-Fi setup mode, then using HP Smart to reconfigure the printer Wi-Fi settings (you have to follow the Add (new) Printer pathway), where are you getting stuck?
Are you able to find the printer waiting for Wi-Fi setup from within HP Smart?
Are you encountering a specific error message after the Wi-Fi settings are sent over to the printer by HP Smart? If so, can you share the error message? Can you also share the model information for your new router?

I open HP Smart app. It finds my wireless printer and I attempt set up network. HP Smart finds my printer in step:1, but it never gets past step#2 . After 2 hrs the reply is: "the printer could not connect to the Wifi network" Then the message: "There was an unexpected error and we can't complete the setup now." As it attempts to connect the Wifi icon on laptop disconnects and I don't know if that is normal.
Also, my system control panel can not find my printer. It's listed as a scanner. Probably because I removed the printer in frustration last week thinking it would be wise to start all over.
