Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I've had trouble with my Tango X printer's connectivity since adding the HPE email type address. Now, it shows not connected/idle, even though it is. And, I can't delete this email address and go back to my normal email in my account. Also, haven't been able to contact an actual person, even using their system.  The printer is connected and will print test pages!? This system for a solution just takes me in circles.

Any tips or ideas, phone numbers?

Thank you

I  understand how  it must feel when your printer shows as “not connected/idle” even though it prints test pages. Thank you for sharing the details  you’ve already done some great troubleshooting on your own.

Let’s work together to get this sorted out.

Here are a few steps you can try :

  1. Remove email account: Open the HP Smart app, go to Account Settings, and check if the HPE email address can be removed under “Email Profiles.” Sometimes it requires signing out and back in with your preferred email.
  2. Reset printer connection: Power off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then reconnect. After restarting, re-add the printer in the HP Smart app to refresh the connection.
  3. Check firmware updates: Outdated firmware can cause idle/connection mismatches. In the HP Smart app, go to Printer Settings → Advanced → Firmware Update.
  4. Reinstall HP Smart app: If the email profile is stuck, uninstalling and reinstalling the app often clears cached account data.

I hope this helps.
