I noticed after pushing buttons that I have a standard password on my printer that is not even alpha numeric, it's barely better than the password being "password".  It appears to be standard on the printer so, in my view, is a security risk.  I've seen on this forum how to reset the password but does that affect how my devices connect to the printer since it's over my wifi?  Also, will this affect HP connecting for the HP Instant Ink program?  TIA

I'd like to help!

 

We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue.

 The reset will restore the printer to default settings.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hello- I think I am having the same issue. I want to change some printer settings but the EWS doesn't let me in and I don't know the admin password. I did the semi reset and no luck. Can you help? I'm happy to fully reset the printer and then log in and change the password. Thanks
