Deskjet 2700: I recently had a problem with my AT&T wireless router. To fix it I was told to reset back to its default settings. I renamed it (not the previous name I used with my printer). Now my printer can't find the network. I don't know how to make the printer recognize the router again. Most info and directions don't really help. All I need is step-by-step instructions. HP Smart isn't really helping.
Suggestions please?

HI @PlumBlossom,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To reset your HP DeskJet 2700 and connect it to a new wireless network, follow these step-by-step instructions:
Step 1: Reset the Printer's Network Settings
- Turn on the Printer: Make sure your printer is powered on.
- Access the Control Panel: On the printer, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for about 3 seconds until the Wireless light starts blinking. This resets the network settings.
Step 2: Connect to the New Wireless Network
Using the HP Smart App
- Open HP Smart: If you haven’t already, download the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store or HP’s website.
- Add Printer: Open the app and click on the + icon to add your printer.
- Follow Prompts: The app should guide you through connecting your printer to the new Wi-Fi network. Select your new network and enter the password when prompted.
Using the Printer's Control Panel
- Press the Wireless Button: Press the Wireless button on the printer until the light starts blinking.
- Select Wi-Fi Setup: Press and hold the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button on your router for about 5 seconds. This will establish a connection between your printer and the router automatically.
Step 3: Confirm the Connection
- Print a Network Configuration Page: To check the connection, print a network configuration page:
- On the printer, press and hold the Information button (it may look like an "i") until the printer prints a report.
- Check if it shows the correct SSID (network name) and connection status.
Step 4: Install or Update Printer Software
- Reinstall Printer Software: If necessary, reinstall the HP printer software on your computer to ensure it recognizes the printer on the new network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
