Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how confusing it feels to be asked for a WPS PIN when setting up your HP ENVY 5660 e‑all‑in‑one printer. Thank you for already trying to connect—it shows persistence.

Let’s walk through where to find that PIN and how to proceed.

Where to Find the WPS PIN

  • The WPS PIN is generated by the printer itself, not printed on a label.
  • On your printer’s control panel, go to Wireless Settings > Wi‑Fi Protected Setup > PIN.
  • The printer will display an 8‑digit PIN on the screen.
  • Enter this PIN into your laptop when prompted.

Alternative Connection Method (Push Button)

If you prefer not to use the PIN:

  1. On the printer’s control panel, go to Wireless Settings > Wi‑Fi Protected Setup > Push Button.
  2. On your router, press the WPS button within 2 minutes.
  3. The printer will connect automatically without needing a PIN.

If You’re Using USB Only

Since you mentioned setting up with your laptop, if you don’t want to use Wi‑Fi at all, you can connect via USB:

  1. Download and install the full driver/software package for your printer here:
HP ENVY 5660 Printer Software and Drivers
  2. Run the installer and choose USB connection when prompted.
  3. This bypasses the WPS PIN requirement entirely.

So the WPS PIN is shown directly on the printer’s display when you select the PIN option under Wi‑Fi Protected Setup. If you’d rather avoid the PIN, you can use the push‑button method or connect with USB.
