Hi @Alkhazar,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you want to change your SSID name and password.

To change the SSID name and password on your HP Smart Tank 516 Wireless All-In-One printer, you'll need to access the printer's wireless settings. Here's how to do it:

Method 1: Using the Printer's Control Panel

Turn on the Printer:

  • Ensure your printer is powered on and connected to your network.

Access Wireless Settings:

  • From the printer control panel, go to the Setup or Settings menu. This can usually be accessed by pressing the wireless icon or navigating through the control panel's menu options.

Select Network Setup:

  • Find and select Network Setup or Wireless Setup Wizard.

Select Your Network:

  • The printer will search for available networks. Select your network from the list of available networks.

Change SSID and Password:

  • Enter the new SSID name (network name) and password when prompted. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Method 2: Using the HP Smart App

Open the HP Smart App:

  • Ensure you have the HP Smart app installed on your computer or mobile device. Open the app.

Add Your Printer:

  • If your printer is not already added, click on the + sign to add your printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer.

Access Printer Settings:

  • Once your printer is added, click on the printer icon to access printer settings.

Network Settings:

  • Look for Network Settings or Wireless Settings in the app.

Change SSID and Password:

  • In the Network Settings, you should see options to change the SSID name and password. Enter the new information and save the settings.

Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @Alkhazar,

Here are the next set of steps.

Method 3: Using the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Find the Printer's IP Address:

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to the Wireless menu or Network settings to find the printer's IP address.

Open a Web Browser:

  • On your computer, open a web browser and enter the printer's IP address in the address bar. Press Enter.

Access EWS:

  • This will open the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS). You may need to log in. The default username and password are usually admin.

Go to Network Settings:

  • In the EWS, navigate to Network or Wireless Settings.

Change SSID and Password:

  • Look for options to change the SSID name and password. Enter the new information and apply the changes.

Tips

  • Ensure that the new SSID name and password are set correctly, and note them down for future reference.
  • After changing the SSID and password, you may need to reconnect your devices to the new network name and password.

If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, I recommend you contact phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
