Hi @Cindy402,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
It sounds like you're trying to connect your HP printer to your Wi-Fi network, but there is some confusion about the printer model and Wi-Fi setup. Let's go through the steps to correctly identify your printer and connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
Step 1: Identify Your Printer Model
First, let's confirm the exact model of your printer.
- Physical Inspection:
- Check the sticker on the printer for the model number. You mentioned it shows HP 8015e.
- Printer Information:
- On the printer control panel, navigate to the printer's settings or information menu to find the model number. This is usually under "Settings" > "Printer Info" or similar.
Step 2: Reset Network Settings on the Printer
Before attempting to connect to Wi-Fi, reset the printer’s network settings.
- Reset Network Settings:
- On the printer's control panel, go to "Setup" > "Network Setup" or "Wireless Settings".
- Select "Restore Network Settings" or "Reset Network Settings".
Step 3: Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi
Use HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart App on your smartphone or computer.
- Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to set up a new printer. The app will guide you through connecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Manual Wi-Fi Setup:
- On the printer's control panel, go to "Setup" > "Network Setup" or "Wireless Settings".
- Select "Wireless Setup Wizard" and follow the on-screen instructions to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
Step 4: Verify Wi-Fi Connection
Check Wi-Fi Signal:
- Ensure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- Avoid obstacles and electronic devices that might interfere with the Wi-Fi signal.
Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post.

Hi @Cindy402,
Please find the next set of steps below.
Confirm Wi-Fi Connection:
- Once the printer connects to the Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi light on the printer should stop blinking and stay solid.
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer's settings to confirm the connection details.
Step 5: Update Printer Drivers and Software
- Download Latest Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers and software for your printer model.
- Install the drivers on your computer and follow the on-screen instructions.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Incorrect Wi-Fi Password: Ensure you are entering the correct Wi-Fi password. It is case-sensitive, so check for any capital letters or special characters.
- Reboot Devices: Restart your printer, computer, and Wi-Fi router.
- Firewall/Security Settings: Ensure your router’s security settings are not blocking the printer. Sometimes disabling the router’s firewall temporarily can help during the setup process.
Additional Resources
- HP Support: For more detailed instructions and troubleshooting steps, refer to the HP support documentation specific to your printer model.
- User Manual: Check the user manual that came with your printer for detailed setup instructions.
