Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

My printer stopped and directed me to phone HP and gave me the #. I called, my printer is out of warranty, so technician had me fire up my laptop and wants to charge me to remotely fix  it saying I've been compromised. Is asking for a check for 191.95 written to Ovron Inc. for a  one year of firewall protection. I feel like this could be a scam? Thing is I called them, so very confusing.

HP really needs to address this issue because it seems to have happened to several people. Just let us know if Ovron is legit and if it is connected to Hewlett. The address given to me ended up being a house!

HP does need to address this issue.  Is Ovron a legitimate business that deals with HP, and should anyone be expected to send them a check when their printer is still under warranty?  Is the number [content edited] a legitimate HP printer support phone number?  I found this number on the HP website, called it, and ended up talking to someone who said trojans were causing my printer problems, and wanted to install updated drivers, and asked $199 be sent to Ovron.  The address I was given is a house.

HP Support does not free-post HP Support phone numbers on the net.

  • Not by chat,
  • Not by sneaky pop-up,
  • Not by a nice tech who claims to be HP and insists on logging into your computer - no legitimate company does this,
  • Not by a tech who wants YOUR phone number to call you back,
  • Not by a tech who sends you off to someone else >> that new "person" wants into your computer and wants to sell you anti-virus software because your computer is full of bugs and gremlins,
  • Not by claiming your devices are infested,
  • Not by claiming your printer is in need of paid drivers...

If you have an in-Warranty printer / computer,

Contact HP Support and submit an online case.

Reminders - READ

Online Case Submission to HP Support is available to those whose devices registered and are still in Warranty.

Some regions display phone / chat contact information only after the case is submitted online

Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty.  Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.

HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.

If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.

Important

HP Phone numbers you find on the Internet have likely been hijacked. Old HP phone numbers – for example, those numbers no longer used by HP since the move to “online” case submissions – might have been taken over by thieves.

I have a bad feeling about this as my printer warrenty just expired and Ovron wanted to charge me $199.00 to fix my issue and extend my warrenty. That is more than I paid for the printer. I cancelled the interaction. HP you must resolve this issue or you will lose many customers!!! What a scam this is.
