My printer used to print from the second tray if tray 1was empty.  It doesn't do that now.

I understand the printer is not printing from tray 2. Tray 2 is designed to hold only plain paper.

 

  • Which application are you trying to print from?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

Check the print settings, you may refer to - HP print settings guide

Also, check the settings on the printer control panel. Refer to page 31 in the User guide

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Also, check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
