We have tried connecting through WiFi but our network security key doesn’t work. We did a wireless network test report and it says “your wireless router requires a wpa security pass phrase. The passphrase configured on your hp printer does not match exactly. Run the wireless network setup to re-enter your wireless network wpa security passphrase. ***”

Hi @Jazminnunez,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is unable to connect to your Wi-Fi network because the security key (WPA passphrase) doesn't match, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Double-Check the WPA Passphrase:
- Ensure that you are entering the correct WPA passphrase. Remember that it is case-sensitive, so make sure to match uppercase and lowercase letters exactly.
2. Re-enter Wireless Network Settings:
- Access the printer’s control panel:
- Navigate to the Network or Wireless settings.
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard or similar option.
- Choose your Wi-Fi network and re-enter the WPA security passphrase when prompted.
3. Use the HP Smart App:
- If you have the HP Smart app installed on your smartphone or computer:
- Open the app and add your printer if it's not already added.
- Go to the printer settings and look for Network Setup or Wireless Setup. Follow the prompts to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
4. Reset Network Settings:
- On the printer, you may find an option to reset the network settings:
- This will clear the current Wi-Fi settings, allowing you to set it up from scratch.
- After resetting, use the Wireless Setup Wizard again to connect.
5. Check Router Settings:
- Log in to your router’s settings (typically done by entering the router’s IP address into a web browser).
- Verify the security settings and passphrase being used. Ensure it is set to WPA2 (if possible) for better compatibility.
6. Temporarily Disable Security (for testing):
- If you are still having trouble, consider temporarily changing your router's security settings to WPA (not WPA2) or no security to see if the printer can connect. If it connects, you can then revert back to WPA2 and try re-entering the passphrase.
7. Update Printer Firmware:
- Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually check for updates through the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
