I cant find any SNMP settings for this model in EWS or in Web JetAdmin. It is running SNMP according to our IT Security team and we need to modify or disable. Is this possible with the PRO model?

Hi @tkmat
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To modify or disable SNMP settings on an HP LaserJet Pro model, you generally have a couple of options, although the specific steps can vary depending on the exact model and firmware version. Here's how you can typically find and modify these settings:
1. Accessing the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
- Make sure the printer is connected to your network.
- Open a web browser and enter the printer’s IP address in the address bar (you can find the IP address on the printer’s display panel).
- Once in the EWS, look for a tab labeled Networking or Network Setup.
2. Locating SNMP Settings
- In the Networking section, look for an option related to SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). This may be listed under Advanced Settings or Network Protocols.
- You should see options to enable/disable SNMP and to modify SNMP community strings.
3. Using HP Web JetAdmin
- If you have access to HP Web JetAdmin, log in to the console.
- Navigate to the printer's settings through the device list and look for network settings.
- Similar to EWS, you should find SNMP settings that you can modify.
4. Consult the User Manual
- If you're unable to find the settings through EWS or Web JetAdmin, consult the user manual for your specific HP LaserJet Pro model. It usually contains detailed instructions on accessing and modifying network settings.
5. Firmware Updates
- Ensure the printer's firmware is up to date, as some settings may change or become more accessible with newer firmware versions.
6. Disabling SNMP via Other Methods
- If the printer’s model does not provide direct access to SNMP settings through the EWS or Web JetAdmin, you may consider configuring the network settings through your router or network management software to block SNMP traffic.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I checked the manual, EWS, Web JetAdmin, and firmware. No opportunity to control SNMP that I can find. So based on your general answer here I will block snmp traffic for this specific device or replace it. Thanks, Chris
