I want to print a document from my phone to my printer.  It is asking for a password.  How do I set up a password?

@officequeen, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

To assist you better, are you using an iPhone or an Android?

Are you using the HP Smart app to print?

 

You do not have to set a password to print from your phone.

 

To print from your mobile device, connect the device to the same network as the printer.

You may refer to this document for more info - HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

 

If you do not have a wireless router and if you have connected the printer and the mobile via wifi-direct, the default password is 12345678.
