Trying to connect the printer to my Wi-Fi network, which is through Quantum fiber, and it is showing everyone else's network but my own on the printer. I am trying the printer touchpad controls to do this. It will not find my network at all to connect. I  have even entered my network name into the touch pad and it can't find it

 

I have tried to use the smart software app also, and it can't seem to find my printer either. How do I get my printer to connect to my Wi-Fi network if it won't even find it? I have reset the printer several times, I have even gone back to a factory reset, and nothing seems to work. All my other devices can find my Wi-Fi network so it's not my network or modem. There is something wrong with the printer not seeing my network. Like I  said, I  have also tried using the app to connect and it doesn't work either.

It can be frustrating when your printer is having trouble connecting to your Wi-Fi network. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with your HP Officejet Pro 9018 printer not finding your Wi-Fi network.

 

  1. Check Your Network Name (SSID): Make sure that you are entering the correct network name (SSID) into the printer. A small typo can lead to it not recognizing your network. Double-check the SSID and password.

  2. Wi-Fi Signal Strength: Ensure that your printer is within the range of your Wi-Fi router. Weak signal strength can lead to connectivity issues. If your printer is too far from the router, consider moving it closer.

  3. 2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz: Some printers only support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks, while some routers have both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. Ensure your printer and Wi-Fi network are using the same frequency band. You may need to log into your router settings and create a dedicated 2.4 GHz network for your printer.

  4. Wireless Network Mode: Check if your Wi-Fi router is set to support older Wi-Fi standards like 802.11b/g/n, as newer printers might not be compatible with older standards. If your router is set to a modern standard like 802.11ac/ax, consider changing it to a compatible mode temporarily.

  5. Hidden SSID: Some routers hide their SSID for security reasons. If your network is hidden, you'll need to manually enter the SSID and password into the printer.

  6. Firewall/Antivirus: Your firewall or antivirus software on your computer may be blocking the printer's connection. Temporarily disable these to see if it helps.

  7. Reset Printer Network Settings: Since you mentioned that you've done a factory reset on the printer, try resetting the network settings as well. This can clear any previous network configurations that might be causing issues.

  8. Firmware Update: Check if there is a firmware update available for your HP Officejet Pro 9018. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve connectivity problems.

  9. HP Smart App: When using the HP Smart App, make sure your smartphone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to connect to. The app may not discover the printer if it's on a different network.

  10. Manual Setup: If all else fails, you can try setting up the printer manually. Use the printer's control panel to enter your Wi-Fi network details. Refer to the printer's manual for specific instructions on how to do this.
