Hi,
issue to solve in next firmware release :
If "Wi-Fi Direct" is disabled, and if printer restart (power outage, or simple reboot) the printer is not able to connect to is stored "Infrastructure WiFi". To solve issue, it is needed to the printer to disable / enable wifi and then the printer will automaticaly connect to is stored wifi
OR keep the "Wi-Fi Direct" enabled, which is a problem
regards

Hi @cocapic,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When encountering Wi-Fi connection issues with the HP Smart Tank 7605e, such as the inability to connect to a stored "Infrastructure WiFi" network after a restart, here are some potential solutions.
Enable Wi-Fi Direct Temporarily:
- Keeping Wi-Fi Direct enabled can sometimes stabilize connection issues. However, if this is not preferable, you can try other solutions below.
Firmware Update:
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for the latest firmware updates on the HP support website. An update might include a fix for this issue.
Reset Network Settings:
- Restore the network settings on the printer to default, and then reconnect to the Wi-Fi network:
- From the printer control panel, navigate to the Network or Wireless settings menu.
- Find the option to restore network settings and confirm the action.
Reconfigure Wireless Setup:
- After resetting, use the HP app or the printer software on your computer to set up the wireless connection again.
Use a Static IP Address:
- Assigning a static IP address to the printer might help maintain a stable connection.
- Access your router settings to reserve an IP address for your printer under the DHCP settings.
Check Router Settings:
- Ensure that your router is set to a compatible mode (like 2.4 GHz) if the printer does not support 5 GHz networks.
- Verify that the SSID and password settings have not changed.
Power Cycle Your Devices:
- Completely power off the printer, router, and computer. Wait for a few minutes, then turn them back on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
