I recently changed my internet to Starlink, since then my Wireless network connection disconnects daily. I have to re-enter my Wireless network setup and re-enter the password to re-join my home network, otherwise, wireless printing does not work. It there something I can setup on the printer to not disconnect from Starlink daily? Thanks

Hi @BChap99,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing frequent disconnections with your HP Officejet Pro 8615 printer after switching to Starlink, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue. Here are some suggestions.
- Firmware Update: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. HP often release firmware updates that address connectivity issues. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and check for any available firmware updates.
- Static IP Address: Assign a static IP address to your printer. This prevents the router from assigning a different IP address to the printer each time it connects. Consult your printer's manual or the HP support website for instructions on setting a static IP.
- Wireless Signal Strength: Check the wireless signal strength in the location where your printer is placed. If the signal is weak or unstable, consider moving the printer closer to the router or using a Wi-Fi extender to improve signal strength.
- Wi-Fi Channel: Log in to your router's settings and manually set the Wi-Fi channel to avoid interference from other devices. Choose a less congested channel for better stability.
- Power Cycle: Occasionally, power cycling your printer and router can help resolve connectivity issues. Turn off both devices, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on.
- Contact Starlink Support: If the issue persists, contact Starlink support for assistance. They may be able to provide specific guidance or settings adjustments for your Starlink connection.
- HP Wireless Direct: Check if your printer has a feature called "HP Wireless Direct" or "Wi-Fi Direct." This allows the printer to connect directly to your device without going through the router. It might be a workaround if the disconnection issue is related to the router.
- Update Router Firmware: Ensure that your router's firmware is up to date. Router manufacturers release updates to improve performance and address issues.
- Network Security Settings: Verify that your network security settings (WPA, WPA2, etc.) match the settings on your printer. Misconfigured security settings can cause connectivity problems.
- Printer Placement: Ensure that the printer is not placed near electronic devices that may interfere with the Wi-Fi signal, such as cordless phones, microwave ovens, or other wireless devices.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
