HP ENVY 6000 All-in-One Printer

I can't seem to stay, or reconnect to the printer. I use wifi and not physically connect to a router. I connect my computer to a Hotspot on my phone.

Is there a good video to watch? I went to HP SUPPORT on YouTube but haven't sorted through them.

I've printed before, then struggled, printed again, then back to issues. I even sent a message from email to print. But then couldn't.

I went through the Wireless Quick Start Guide printed off.

What should my phone stay on? Wifi, Bluetooth, Hotspot? And recently I think I changed it to automatically go back to ... something.

I also have held the wifi button down and it goes into set-up mode and is difficult to get out of it, and can't do the "hold the 3 buttons" to turn on wifi during then.

@Penelopea, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are facing network connectivity issues with the printer.

Hotspot connection may not work with printers. It is recommended you use a wireless router or a USB cable.

If you have a personal wireless router, connect the printer and the computer to the same network to be able to print.

Use the WPS method to connect the printer to the network.

  • Make sure the printer and the Mac are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

If this does not help, then you might have to use a USB cable and then convert it to wireless.

If you do not have a wireless router of your own, you may connect the devices using wifi-direct. Refer to - HP printer setup (Wi-Fi Direct)

Note: The default password is 12345678. There will be no internet access on the computer/phone while using this feature.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
