Hi everyone,
I’m having a bit of trouble getting my HP Envy 6055 printer to connect to Wi-Fi, and it’s really slowing me down. I’ve tried restarting the router and double-checking the printer’s settings, but nothing seems to be working. Has anyone else dealt with this issue and found a solution that worked?
While searching for fixes, I found some useful tips on another site, solutions.brother.com/windows, which which was for Brother Printer, I am looking for HP Printer, Any help would be appreciated!

Hi @Kindall1985,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 6055 printer is having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, here’s a detailed troubleshooting guide to help you resolve the issue:
1. Verify Basic Connectivity
- Restart Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Restart Router: Unplug your router for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Wait for it to fully restart.
- Restart Computer or Device: Sometimes restarting your computer or mobile device can help resolve connectivity issues.
- Ensure that your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi network. Weak signal strength can affect connectivity.
2. Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi
- Access Wireless Setup: On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless icon or navigate to Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Select Your Network: Follow the prompts to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the Wi-Fi password.
- Install HP Smart App: Download and install the HP Smart app from the HP website or your device’s app store.
- Add Printer: Open the HP Smart app and select Add Printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network.
3. Check and Update Printer Firmware:
- Check for any firmware updates for your printer on the HP Support website. Firmware updates can resolve many connectivity issues.
- You can also update the firmware via the HP Smart app.
4. Reset Network Settings
- Access Network Settings: On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network > Restore Network Settings. This will reset the network settings to default.
- Reconnect to Network: After resetting, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the Wireless Setup Wizard or the HP Smart app.
5. Verify Printer and Network Configuration
- Print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to verify its IP address and ensure it’s connected to your network.:
- Ensure that your router settings are not blocking the printer. Check for any security settings or firewall configurations that might prevent the printer from connecting.
6. Reinstall Printer Software
- On your computer, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall any existing HP printer software.
- Download and install the latest version of the HP software from the HP Support website. Follow the instructions to set up the printer and connect it to your network.
7. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP Support website. This tool can diagnose and fix many common printer issues, including connectivity problems.
8. Check for Wireless Interference:
- Ensure there are no large metal objects or other devices that could cause wireless interference between the printer and your router.
9. Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the printer from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn it on and try reconnecting to the network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
