Tango
Android 9.0 Pie

I specifically purchased the Tango to print from my Android. Every day or two it drops the connection and I have to reconnect. How do I keep it connected??? CenturyLink claims they have no interruptions or issues. Internet is up when I have to reconnect.

@DaleRoberson, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand the connectivity drops intermittently. Let us try these steps:

Restart the router, printer, and Android device.

  • Make sure the printer and the Android device are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

Update the printer firmware

I have an old HP Officejet Pro 8600 on the same wifi as my Tango. Apparently the OJ 8600 can't connect on 2G. Is there a firmware upgrade to 5G?

@DaleRoberson

Is the issue with the HP Tango printer resolved now?

HP Officejet 8600 supports both 2.4 and 5GHz networks. Also, there is no new firmware released for this model printer due to its age.

Keep me posted.
