Hi @Raficsea,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand that after attempting to reset your network settings on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer, the wireless functionality has been deactivated, and you're no longer seeing the network setup options on the display. We’ll help you restore your wireless connectivity.

When the network settings were reset, it's possible that the wireless radio (Wi-Fi module) was also turned off. On some HP printers, especially the OfficeJet Pro series, wireless must be manually re-enabled after a reset, either via the touchscreen or the Embedded Web Server (EWS) using a USB or Ethernet connection.

Step-by-Step to Restore Wireless Function

1: Enable Wireless via Printer Control Panel

  1. On the printer touchscreen, tap Home.
  2. Tap the Wi-Fi or Wireless icon (it may look greyed out or crossed out).
  3. If you see an option for “Turn Wireless On”, tap it.

If the wireless icon is completely missing or no toggle is available, proceed to Option 2.

2: Enable Wireless via Embedded Web Server (EWS)

You will temporarily connect the printer via USB or Ethernet to your PC to access the internal settings.

📌 Steps:

  1. Connect your printer to your Windows 11 PC via USB cable or to the router via Ethernet.
  2. Open HP Smart on your PC, or open a browser and:
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right-click your HP 8720 > Properties > Web Services tab
    • Or find the IP address of the printer (from the control panel under Settings > Reports > Network Summary) and enter it in a browser (e.g., http://192.168.1.55)
  3. This will open the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  4. Navigate to:
    • Network > Wireless (802.11) > Wireless Radio
    • Enable the wireless radio (turn it on).
  5. Save settings, disconnect USB/Ethernet, and reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi.

3: Restore All Printer Settings

If you still cannot access wireless options:

  1. On the printer:
Home > Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults
  2. After reboot, the printer will behave like out of the box, and you should see wireless setup options again.

⚠️ Note: This will erase all settings, including fax, custom paper sizes, and admin passwords.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello Vikram none of the soltutions worked. I've trying different thing over the past days. The first solution the the button doesn't exist. Second solution there is no wireless radio to be activated or anything. And the last step i factory reset the printer and the internet config showed up. Now the problem is even it doesn't want to  connect to internet. I even tried using an ethernet cable but the printer doesn't seem to want to allow an internet connection so this didn't work. I'm pretty annoyed with this.
