Hi @Meedo72,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP DeskJet 3700 All‑in‑One is showing “Printer not connected to the internet.” This is a common issue and is usually caused by the printer losing its Wi‑Fi connection, especially after a router change, power outage, or long period of inactivity. Please follow the steps below in the given order.
Step 1: Confirm the printer’s Wi‑Fi status
On the printer control panel:
- Check the blue Wireless light
- Solid blue = connected
- Blinking blue = not connected
If the light is blinking or off, continue to Step 2.
Step 2: Restore Wi‑Fi setup mode
This places the printer back into pairing mode.
- Turn the printer ON
- Press and hold the Cancel (X) button and the Wireless (📶) button together
- Hold both buttons for 5 seconds, then release
The blue wireless light should now blink, indicating setup mode.
Step 3: Connect the printer using the HP App
The DeskJet 3700 series must be set up using the HP App.
- On your computer or mobile device, open the HP App
- Download if needed: HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site
- Select Add / Set up a printer
- Follow the on‑screen instructions to:
- Select your Wi‑Fi network
- Enter the Wi‑Fi password
Make sure:
- Your device is connected to the same Wi‑Fi network
- You are using a 2.4 GHz network (the DeskJet 3700 does not support 5 GHz)
Step 4: Power reset the printer and router
This clears network communication issues.
- Turn the printer ON
- Unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet
- Restart your Wi‑Fi router
- Wait 60 seconds
- Plug the printer power cord directly into a wall outlet
- Turn the printer ON
