Hi @SW21H

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the concern. Since your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer is displaying a "Waiting for connection or Cancel" message only when printing from Print Shop Pro, the printer is likely available but the application may not be communicating with the Windows print system as expected.

To help restore printing, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

Confirm the printer is online and can print from another application:

  • Open a document in Notepad or Word.
  • Print a test page to the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e.
  • If it prints successfully, the connection between the computer and printer is working.

Verify the correct printer is selected in the App

  • Open the Print dialog within Print Shop Pro.
  • Ensure the selected printer is HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e and not an offline, duplicate, PDF, or previously installed printer queue.

Check the printer status in Windows:

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e.
  • Make sure Use Printer Offline is not enabled.
  • Clear any pending print jobs if present.

Refresh the HP printer installation:

  • Open the HP App.
  • Remove the printer from the app if it appears more than once.
  • Add the printer again and allow the app to validate the connection.

Restart the print subsystem:

  • Close Print Shop Pro.
  • Restart the computer and printer.
  • Wait until the printer shows a ready status.
  • Launch Print Shop Pro and try printing again.

Update the printer driver through the HP App:

  • Open the HP App.
  • Check for available printer software or driver updates.
  • Install any updates that are offered and test printing again.

Test with a simplified project:

  • Create a new basic text project in Print Shop Pro.
  • Print a single page.
  • If a simple project prints but a larger one does not, the issue may be related to the project file rather than the printer connection.

If connected wirelessly:

  • Confirm the computer and printer are connected to the same network.
  • If available, temporarily connect using USB and test printing from Print Shop Pro again.

These steps help determine whether the communication delay originates from the Windows print queue, the HP printer connection, or the Print Shop Pro application itself while keeping the HP printing environment refreshed and synchronized.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
