HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fnw
macOS 12.0 Monterey

I just now tried to print a utility bill from my iMac to my HP color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fnw printer via wireless printing...as I always do. This time, a message appeared indicating to block pop ups...or something like that (the message disappeared before I could see exactly what it said). I tried to print my utility bill and it did not print. The paper that came out of the printer said "ERROR: undefined / OFFENDING COMMAND: ++Yo = R@ / STACK: -dictionary- /CharStrings -dictionary- -dictionary- /Private -dictionary- -dictionary-"

I tested to print something from my iPhone via wireless printing and I cannot print: "No Printer Selected...No AirPrint Printers Found."  What is an airprint printer? I just want my computer and iphone to print wirelessly to my printer. What do I need to do?

Hi @LindaCoyle,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you are encountering issues with both your iMac and iPhone when trying to print wirelessly to your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fnw printer. Let's address the issues step by step.

iMac Printing Issue:

The error message you received ("ERROR: undefined / OFFENDING COMMAND: ++Yo = R@ / STACK: -dictionary- /CharStrings -dictionary- -dictionary- /Private -dictionary- -dictionary-") suggests a problem with the print job or the print data being sent to the printer.

Check Print Queue:

  • Open the Print Queue on your iMac and cancel any pending print jobs.
  • Restart your iMac and try printing again.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your iMac. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.

Check Printer Connection:

  • Verify that your iMac is connected to the same wireless network as your HP printer.
  • Check if there are any issues with the wireless connection.

Reset Printing System:

  • Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners."
  • Right-click (or Control-click) on the printer in the left panel and choose "Reset printing system."
  • Re-add your printer and try printing again.

iPhone Printing Issue:

The message "No Printer Selected...No AirPrint Printers Found" indicates that your iPhone cannot find a compatible AirPrint-enabled printer.

Check Printer Compatibility:

  • Ensure that your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fnw is an AirPrint-enabled printer. Most modern HP printers support AirPrint, but it's good to verify.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Updating the printer firmware may resolve compatibility issues.

Restart Printer and iPhone:

  • Power off your printer, wait a few seconds, and then power it back on.
  • Restart your iPhone.

Check Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Confirm that both your iPhone and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Reconfigure AirPrint:

  • On your printer, go to the settings or network menu and ensure that AirPrint is enabled.
  • On your iPhone, go to "Settings" > "Wi-Fi" and make sure you are connected to the correct network.

Reinstall Printer on iPhone:

  • Remove the printer from your iPhone's list of available printers and re-add it. Go to "Settings" > "Printers" and delete the existing printer. Then, add it again.

If the issues persist, you may need to consult the user manuals for your iMac, iPhone, and HP printer for more specific troubleshooting steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
