@Nick99999, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Envy 6000!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It looks like your HP ENVY 6020e All-in-One Printer is experiencing a connection or configuration issue. The flashing WiFi symbol, amber "i" light, and red cross indicate possible connectivity or setup problems. Here’s how to troubleshoot:
Disable WiFi and Use USB Connection
Since you want to use the printer via USB, let's ensure WiFi is disabled:
- Press and hold the WiFi button (or the Wireless and Cancel buttons together) until the light turns off.
- If the printer does not have a direct WiFi off button, you may need to disable WiFi through the HP Smart app or the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
- Restart the printer and ensure WiFi is off before proceeding.
Check the USB Connection
- Ensure the USB cable is properly plugged into both the printer and your computer.
- Try using a different USB port on your computer.
- If possible, test with another USB cable.
Clear Any Error Conditions
- Amber "i" light: Press the "i" (Information) button to see if the printer provides a specific error message.
- Red Cross Light & 0 Displayed: This may indicate a paper jam, empty paper tray, or a missing ink cartridge.
- Check for a paper jam inside the printer and remove any stuck paper.
- Ensure ink cartridges are installed correctly and have enough ink.
- Make sure paper is loaded properly in the tray.
Restart Printer & Computer
- Turn off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Restart your computer.
- Try printing again.
Reinstall Printer Drivers
If the printer started working but then stopped, a driver issue might be causing the problem.
- Go to HP’s official website and download the latest drivers for your HP ENVY 6020e.
- Uninstall the printer from your computer and reinstall it using the latest software.
Set Printer to USB Mode (If Needed)
- On Windows:
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP ENVY 6020e and select Printer Properties.
- Under Ports, ensure it is set to USB001 (or the correct USB port).
If the issue persists, let me know which step didn't work, and I’ll guide you further! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
