Hi @Printer71-26,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're unable to turn on your wireless radio after an internet outage. You can follow these general steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. Ensure you are following the steps specific to HP devices.

For HP Laptops

Check Wireless Switch/Button:

  • Look for a physical wireless toggle switch on the sides or front of your laptop. Some HP laptops have a dedicated button or function key (usually marked with a wireless icon) to enable or disable the wireless function.

Enable Using Function Keys:

  • Press the Fn key along with one of the numbered F keys (e.g., F12, F3) that shows a wireless icon. This combination might vary depending on the laptop model.

Check Network Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre> Change adapter settings.

  • Right-click on the Wireless Network connection and select Enable if it’s disabled.

Use the HP Wireless Assistant (if available):

  • Open HP Wireless Assistant from the start menu and look for options to enable the wireless radio.

For HP Desktops with Wireless Capabilities

Check Wireless Adapter Settings:

  • Ensure that the wireless adapter is enabled in the device manager. Go to Control Panel > Device Manager > Network adapters. Right-click your wireless adapter and choose Enable.

Restart the Device and Router:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart of your device and the router can resolve connectivity issues.

Update Network Drivers:

  • Visit the HP support site to check if there are any updates available for your network drivers and install them.

Troubleshoot Network Settings:

  • Use built-in Windows network troubleshooting options to detect and fix common issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot and select Internet Connections.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
