Good afternoon,
I work in a school district with many HP printers. We want to enable AirPrinting on all library printers to allow students to AirPrint from their 7th gen Ipads(current IPadOS 17.3). As provided above, the model of printer we are using is the HP LaserJet M402dne.
When AirPrinting from an Ipad, I see the printer and can choose the HP device to print to, however, I get a text field asking for a username and password. Traditionally when the username and password field show up on an HP printer it is due to the Wi-Fi direct settings enabled on the printer. I know that once Wi-Fi direct is disabled I can still AirPrint to the device as long as bounjour and AirPrint are enabled, which they are.
The big problem, though, is that this printer model general doesn't contain a Wi-Fi option. The 'dn' models are only manufactured for wired networks vs the dw models which provide wireless connectivity. So when navigating the web interface or the physically menu of the device, there are no options for Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi direct. Attached below is an example of what I see on the web interface.
Attached below as well is the Enabled Features page:
In short:
The issue is that the username and password field still displays when AirPrinting from an Ipad. How do I disable the user/pw field when AirPrinting to this particular printer model?

I was able to resolve my issue. For those of you who are curious:
We utilize a system called Secure Print for our standard printing system. Secure Print forces a user to enter a username and password when printing from a computer. I thought this was not the case when printing through AirPrint, however, I was greatly mistaken. I simply had to enter my printing credentials and the AirPrint went through.
