I have an HP Envy 4500 Series ePrinter that will not connect to my Netgear Nighthawk M6 (MR6150) WiFi Hotspot. Have entered the Printer MAC address in the MR6150 as a permitted device, but connection attempts fail. Does the HP Envy 4500 series printer support 2.4 GHz and/or 5.0 GHz? The Hotspot supports both. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This printer did connect to my older Hotspot which was a Netgear Nighthawk MR1100.

Hi @RAllen2,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with connecting your Printer to the network.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.
Note : The printer supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. If the router is set to 5 GHz or tri-band, ensure the 2.4 GHz band is enabled.
Please follow the steps below to connect your printer to the network again.
1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.
2) Enable Wi-Fi setup mode: When you turn on your printer for the first time, it is temporarily placed in Wi-Fi setup mode so that it can be discovered during setup. Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information.
3) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.
Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!

Irwin6,
Please accept this update from my latest testing. I started the printer again and went to the Wireless Setup Wizard. It found the 2.4GHz version of my Netgear Hotspot. I had to enter the password then asked to have it found and a connection made. The connection failed. I printed the report. The failure is under Settings>No filtering. When this happened the first time, I checked the settings on the Netgear device. I entered Current Configuration>Hardware Address (MAC) listed on the printer report to the Unrestricted devices list on the Netgear device. Is there some other setting on the printer that I need to address?
