Hi

Linux Mint 22.3

HPLIP 3.23.12

Printer HP DeskJet ink Advantage 4675.

I connected the printer with a usb cable.

I configured the printer to work wireless through the HPLIP.

At the end I get a message you can disconnect the usb cable.

When I do that the connection to the printer is lost.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Moshik

Hi @MoshikAmit, thanks for posting. On Linux Mint, once the DeskJet Ink Advantage 4675 is on Wi-Fi, add it as a network printer:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable and print a Network Configuration report from the printer to confirm it's connected and get its IP address.
  2. In a terminal run hp-setup -i and choose "Network/Ethernet/Wireless"; enter the printer's IP when asked.
  3. Alternatively, in Settings > Printers > Add, enter the IP and pick the "IPP Everywhere" (driverless) option.
  4. If hp-setup doesn't find it, make sure the PC and printer are on the same network/subnet (not a guest network), and that the firewall allows mDNS (port 5353).

Keep me posted!
