Hi @Davefromjersey,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're unable to connect your HP DeskJet 3630 to your network, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue.
Check Wi-Fi and Router
- Ensure your router is working and other devices can connect to it.
- Double-check that the router is operating on a 2.4 GHz network (the HP DeskJet 3630 doesn't support 5 GHz networks).
- Make sure your Wi-Fi password is correct.
Restart Devices
- Restart your printer, router, and computer. Sometimes, this can help reestablish the connection.
Use the Printer's Control Panel
- On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless button (it looks like a signal icon).
- Then press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds. This will reset the network settings on the printer.
- After resetting, the printer should go into a "Ready to Connect" mode.
HP Smart App Setup
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device if you haven’t already.
- Open the HP Smart app and select Add Printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your network. It may prompt you to enter your Wi-Fi credentials.
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
If your router supports WPS:
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- Then press and hold the Wireless button on your printer until the wireless light starts blinking.
- This should automatically connect your printer to the network.
Check for Firmware Updates
- If you can connect the printer to a computer via USB, try updating the printer's firmware. This can sometimes resolve network issues.
- You can update the firmware through the HP Smart app or HP’s official website.
Temporarily Disable Firewall/Antivirus
- If you're setting up the printer on a computer and using security software, temporarily disable the firewall or antivirus. Some software can block the connection between the printer and the router.
If you've tried all these steps and still can't connect, you might want to reset the printer to factory settings and start over.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
