HP ENVY 6030 All-In-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

This is the current status of my printer:

From the printed information page - this printer is connected to the wireless network 'Three_3025' (that is my network)

then in bold it says This printer is not connected to the internet

In the app - Printer not connected but in the network information it says Wireless: On Status: Connected

The lights on the printer are pale orange not moving, the screen is displaying the wifi icon a red X and a flashing i

I have tried all the normal things, turning it on and off, holding down the button at the back, turning off the router and it just won't connect.

Background: The printer has been acting up for months. It seemed to get stuck in 'copy mode'. After lots of fiddling, it would print but only when the green arrow was flashing, although sometimes printing directly from another computer would work.

This week it would not print at all so I did all the normal things over and over again from printer settings and the HP App, finally I decided to remove and re-add the computer, but it wouldn't find the printer and this went on for four days with me trying various things over and over again, eventually I managed to get the printer back into the app and on my printer settings, by following a YouTube tutorial and using the wizard. It makes a noise when I send something to print but it remains in the print queue.

@KimGUK, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP ENVY 6030 is having trouble connecting to HP web services, even though it's connected to your Wi-Fi. Since you've already tried the basic troubleshooting steps, let's go through some advanced solutions:

Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  1. Press and hold the Wireless button (or Wi-Fi button depending on your model) and the Cancel button together for about 5-10 seconds until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking.
  2. Wait for the printer to restart and reconnect it to Wi-Fi.

Manually Assign a Static IP Address

Sometimes, dynamic IP assignment causes network instability.

  1. Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer.
    • Press the Information button (i) on your printer to print the report.
  2. Find the IP address (something like 192.168.1.XX).
  3. Open a web browser on your PC and type that IP address in the address bar.
  4. Go to the Network settings in the printer’s web interface.
  5. Set a Manual (Static) IP Address.
  6. Under DNS settings, manually set:
    • Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
    • Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
  7. Save the changes and restart your printer and router.

Ensure HP Web Services Are Enabled

  1. Log into the printer’s EWS (Embedded Web Server) using the printer’s IP address.
  2. Go to the Web Services tab.
  3. If Web Services is disabled, enable it.
  4. If it doesn’t enable, perform a factory reset and try again.

Disable IPv6

  1. Go to the EWS (printer’s IP in browser).
  2. Navigate to Network > Advanced Settings.
  3. Disable IPv6 and restart the printer.

Remove and Reinstall the Printer Completely

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your HP ENVY 6030 and click Remove device.
  3. Uninstall HP Smart and all HP software.
  4. Restart your PC.
  5. Reinstall HP Smart from the Microsoft Store.
  6. Add the printer again and check connectivity.

Check Your Router Settings

  1. Make sure MAC Address Filtering is off.
  2. If your router has separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, Ensure your printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  3. Check if AP Isolation (Client Isolation) is disabled.

Factory Reset the Printer

If all else fails:

  1. Press and hold the Wireless button + Power button for about 10 seconds.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions in HP Smart to set up the printer again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
