Hi, I have suddenly had this issue today. My printer doesn't work anymore and I am trying to set it up again. However, I have failed in doing so due to the error message below:

Unable to connect to ‘HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw (D5075C)._ipps._tcp.local.’ due to an error. Would you still like to create the printer?

I have MacOS 13.0.1 Ventura and HP Smart installed. I was able to use the printer on HP Smart just a week ago. But it suddenly stopped working and the setting up is stuck now.

I have tried Semi Full Reset on another thread but it still doesn't work.

Hi @CliffLi,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are getting an error message _ipps._tcp.local on your HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

We need to perform an NVRAM reset to restore the printer back to its original settings, so you ca try setting it up again.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for the solution. What is also important is to ensure that the printer has to be in the same Wifi band with the phone and laptop. After setting the printer to use 5Gz only, the problem seems to have been solved.
