Hi
i am trying to re-setup my printer to new network. I am running into issues where once the printer network is selected in iPhone settings it’s asking for password. I tried network password but not working. Also showing “E” on my screen. There is no paper jam. I restarted printer network and phone. Still issue stays. Pls help

Hi @Lex-rn,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like your HP DeskJet 4155e printer is having trouble connecting to the new Wi-Fi network. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.
Reset Printer's Network Settings:
- Reset the printer’s network settings to clear any old settings.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer for about 5 seconds until the light blinks.
- Wait for the light to start blinking quickly, which indicates the printer is in setup mode.
Check Wi-Fi Network:
- Make sure you are connecting to the correct network and that your iPhone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure the Wi-Fi network you’re connecting to is using the 2.4 GHz band (if your router supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks), as many printers have trouble connecting to 5 GHz networks.
Enter Correct Network Password:
- Double-check the Wi-Fi password you are entering. It's easy to mistype, especially for special characters or capital letters.
- Make sure your iPhone is also connected to the same Wi-Fi network you're trying to connect the printer to.
Use HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart App from the App Store if you haven’t already.
- Open the app and add the printer by following the instructions in the app to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network. The app might help bypass the password issue by using automatic setup methods.
Check the "E" Error on the Printer Screen:
- The “E” might indicate a communication issue or a setup error.
- After resetting the network settings on the printer, the error should clear once the printer is successfully connected to the network.
Reboot Router:
- Sometimes, a router reboot helps resolve any connectivity issues. Turn off the router, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
Update Printer Firmware:
- If you have successfully connected using the HP Smart App, check for any firmware updates in the app that could resolve any connectivity bugs.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
