HP DeskJet Plus 4152 All-in-One Printer

I recently bought a Mac, installed the printer, worked fine. Then it wouldn't work anymore. Now I can't install the printer because the message says the printer is not connected to the internet. I've tried all the "help" suggestions available, Apple can't help, internet provider can't help. I just don't know what to do now. I tried shutting everything down. I tried resetting everything I could reset. I tried moving the printer next to the router. Nothing has worked.

Hi @Bertie7801,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Deskjet Plus 4152 All-In-One Printer on your Mac. Connectivity issues can be frustrating, but let's try to troubleshoot this step by step.

  1. Check Physical Connections:

    • Ensure that the printer is connected to your Mac using a USB cable or through a wired/wireless network.
    • Verify that the printer is powered on and has no error messages on its display.
  2. Restart Devices:

    • Turn off your printer, Mac, and router.
    • Wait for a few minutes, then turn on the router, wait for it to fully restart, then turn on the printer and Mac.
  3. Reinstall the Printer:

    • Remove the printer from your list of printers on your Mac.
    • Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners," select the printer, and click the '-' button to remove it.
    • Reinstall the printer by clicking the '+' button and selecting the printer from the list.
  4. Check Printer's Wireless Connection:

    • If you're using a wireless connection, make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.
    • Access the printer's settings menu and navigate to the wireless/network settings. Verify the connection.
  5. Update Printer Firmware:

    • Check if there are any firmware updates for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware might resolve connectivity issues.
  6. Use HP Smart App:

    • Install the HP Smart app on your Mac from the App Store. This app can help with the installation and management of HP printers.
  7. Firewall and Security Software:

    • Ensure that your firewall or security software is not blocking the printer's connection. Temporarily disable the firewall or add the printer as an exception.
  8. Check Router Settings:

    • Access your router's settings and ensure that it is not blocking the printer's connection. Check if there are any MAC address filtering or other security settings affecting the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
