Hi @Muralidaran ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand connecting your HP Smart Tank 580-590 printer to a new Wi-Fi network, you may encounter a prompt for a password when connecting to the printer's direct Wi-Fi network. Typically, the password for the printer's direct Wi-Fi network is either provided on a label attached to the printer or it is a default password set by HP.
Here's how you can find the password for your HP Smart Tank 580-590 printer:
May I know the Operating system Windows or Mac OS
Check the Printer's Documentation: Look through the printer's manual or any documentation that came with it. Sometimes, the default password is printed on a label or mentioned in the setup guide. HP Smart Tank 580 All-in-One Printer User manual
Check the Printer's Label: Look for a label on the printer itself. Often, printers have a label with important information such as the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
Default Password: If you can't find the password anywhere, the default password is often a generic one set by the manufacturer. Common default passwords for HP printers might be something like "12345678" or "admin".
If you still can't find the password, you may need to reset the printer's network settings to restore it to its factory defaults. However, be aware that this will erase any custom settings you've previously configured on the printer.
To reset the network settings on your HP Smart Tank 580-590 printer, you can usually follow these steps:
- Turn on the printer.
- Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for several seconds until the Wireless light starts blinking.
- Release the Wireless button. The printer will restart.
- Once the printer restarts, it should revert to its factory default settings, including the default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
After resetting the printer's network settings, you can try connecting to the printer's Wi-Fi network again using the default password or the one provided on the label. Then, you can proceed with configuring it to connect to your new Wi-Fi network.
