Hi @Steven1972

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating that you're unable to print wirelessly from your computer even after trying the setup processes. Let's go through a systematic troubleshooting guide to help you resolve this issue on Windows 11:

1. Check Printer Connection

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. Sometimes, the issue occurs when the printer is connected to a different network or there’s a network conflict.
  • On the printer’s screen or control panel, check its Wi-Fi connection status to ensure it’s online.

2. Restart Devices

  • Restart the printer and your computer to clear any temporary glitches.
  • If your printer is connected to a Wi-Fi network, also try restarting your Wi-Fi router.

3. Run the Printer Troubleshooter

Windows 11 has a built-in printer troubleshooter that can often fix issues automatically:

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Find and click on Printer, then click Run.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to see if Windows can detect and resolve the problem.

4. Check Printer Settings

  • Set the Printer as Default: Sometimes, Windows selects another printer or device as the default. To ensure your printer is the default:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    • Find your printer in the list, right-click it, and select Set as default.
  • Check Printer Status: If your printer shows as offline, right-click on it in Printers & Scanners and select Use Printer Online.

5. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause printing issues. Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Find your printer, right-click, and select Remove device.
  • Then, go to Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select Device Manager).
  • Expand Printers, right-click on your printer, and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the prompts.

Alternatively, you can go to your printer manufacturer’s website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.

6. Check for Windows Updates

Make sure your Windows 11 is up to date, as Microsoft occasionally releases fixes for printing issues:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and click Check for updates.

7. Remove and Re-add the Printer

If the above steps didn’t help, you may need to remove and then re-add the printer:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer and click Remove device.
  • After removing it, click Add a printer or scanner and follow the prompts to add it back.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
