Hi @Hatch61,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP printer’s wireless settings are locked and you want to unlock them. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this and how to unlock them.

Check the printer control panel

On the printer screen, look for a lock icon or Settings → Security / Network Security.

If prompted, enter the administrator password you previously set.

Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Print a Network Configuration Page to find the printer’s IP address.

Enter that IP address into a web browser on a device connected to the same network.

Go to Settings → Security → Administrator Settings to unlock or disable the network lock.

Unlock through HP Smart

Open HP Smart on your computer or phone.

Go to Printer Settings → Advanced Settings.

Navigate to Security / Network Settings and remove the lock if the option is available.

Use the default admin credentials (if not changed)

When prompted for a password, try the one you originally set.

If you never set one, leave the field blank or try admin (case-sensitive).

Restore network settings (last resort)

On the printer, go to Settings → Network → Restore Network Defaults.

This removes the lock along with saved Wi-Fi details, allowing fresh setup.

I hope this helps.
