Recently purchased Deskjet 2721 here (Malta). Now discovered there is no on-line support available for my country.
Documentation provided in the box only shows how to unpack it and put the plugs in!
There is no HP information for connecting to Linux PC. The only drivers available (HPLIPS) from Linux community do not support this printer model. So I cannot use the printer with my PC.
I cannot use it with my smart phone either, since there are no drivers for it (Android v4).
However, the Deskjet 2721 does work well as a single-sheet copier!!!.

Printing from Android devices is supported on Android 5.0 or later versions, it is not supported on such an older version.
You may try searching the store for other print services such as Samsung Print Service I doubt it will work as listed to be supported on 4.4 or later versions but worth a try) or check for any option to print using such a 3rd party print services, such as Printer Share:
If any of these does not work, you cannot print from such an older OS to your printer, it is officially supported on Android 5.0 or later versions,

Hi,
The printer is supported on Linux, as part of the HP Deskjet 2700 All-In-One Series:
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/index
You may follow the documentation on HPLIP to install the printer on a Linux computer.
For Android, is it Android 4.0?
This is a very old OS version which must be updated, the HP Printer Service Plugin is supported on Android 5.0 or later, the HP Smart on Android 7.0 or later, not on any older versions.

Thanks for your reply ShlomiL.
The current HPLIP available in the repository for installation by Synaptic is v 3.20.3 which does not support HP2712.
Developers.hp.com reports that this printer requires v3.20.5, and recommends a separate download/install of their most recent HPLIP v3.20.11.
I have done this and Deskjet HP2712 is now recognised. Hopefully, printer installation for WiFi and USB use will now be evident from the HPLIP documentation.
My Samsung tablet has Android v4.2.2 and cannot be further upgraded.
However, the tablet does support use of an OTG cable for printing, but HP2712 needs HP Print Service Plug-in installed.
It appears that this App is not available from Google Play for Android v4.2.2.
So it seems that printing from it on HP2712 is not possible.
