I have sent a document to private pick up. The new app tells me to say when I am close to the printer. But it does not tell me how, and searching through the app I cannot see how to print my document.

To use the Private Pickup feature with Print Anywhere on the HP app, you can follow these steps:
Enabling and Using Private Pickup on HP App
- Open HP App:
- First, make sure you have the HP app installed on your Android device.
- Ensure your printer is connected to the app and the internet.
- Set Up and Enable Features:
- Open the app and click on the Account icon.
- Navigate to Manage HP Account.
- Under Solutions, enable the Print Anywhere feature.
- Once Print Anywhere is enabled, toggle on the option for 'Require Private Pickup.'
- Using Private Pickup:
- When near the printer, open the HP app.
- It might take a moment for the app to pair with the printer.
- Look for notifications or messages such as 'Private Pickup Files' in the app's top corner.
- Tap these notifications to proceed and scroll up to find the 'Locate Printer' option.
- Printing Process:
- Select the files you want to print from the queue.
- Tap 'Send to Printer' to release the document for printing.
By completing these steps with your HP DeskJet 2810e, you will be able to manage and release print jobs securely using the app's Private Pickup feature. If you encounter any technical issues, you can try reinstalling the app or restarting your device to improve performance.

Welcome to the HP Community --
Step #3 in the "how-to" document --
Excerpted --
Use the HP app for Android or iOS to confirm proximity to the printer and release print jobs to the printer.
Within 72 hours of sending the print job, open the HP app when you are next to your printer.
Wait at least 45 seconds for the app to connect to the printer.
Click your printer, then click Private Pickup files available or Private Pickup files.
Select the files you want to print from the queue, and then click Send to Printer.
If you need to delete any files from the queue, select them and delete.

Thanks, DragonFur, for your help. However, I still can't make it work.
There is no problem with the first part. I can send to private pickup. I then open the app on my mobile which shows my document is there waiting. Bluetooth and location are enabled. I am physically next to the printer. But the recent change of design of the app means that I cannot see the last command, to send the document to the printer from the app. I have watched the "how to" video suggested but at this point the video shows the previous design of the app, that was straightforward.
Grateful for any further advice to overcome this.

You are welcome.
I am sorry I cannot help.
🐀
I don't have an example of what you describe -
I've not yet found a new app video sample.
Lacking any information on the printer model and which type of mobile device might be making this more difficult --
I am guessing you might be using an Android Phone and the newly reformatted "HP App".
?
True - The iOS "New" HP App has been launched in some markets -- I've not seen it yet.
Personally, I'm not a fan of Private Pickup -- Regardless of all else, the option should still work.
As I recall, it takes so long for the printer and phone to connect to Private Pickup that you might feel like wandering away...
Are you in a situation that you can switch OFF the Private Pickup option?
Printer Model?
Operating System / version?
We need to ask someone who has used the new HP App --
@ferRX --
Do you have access to (new) HP App and the Private Pickup part of the app options?
Thanks for any insight.

Hi @Dragon-Fur
Some steps in the HP App from the video:
1. Activate or Enable Private Pickup
2. Then open the Private Pickup files to send to printer.
You can find more information in the next video, at minute 0:49 explains about Print Anywhere
>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SJ-Yo358mQ&ab_channel=HPSupport
Also remember that this feature is available only for some Printer models:
Best regards,
ferRX.

Edit - Just watched the video again.
I can’t explain why the process doesn’t work.
Can you pick a place in the video that shows where your app is not working as described ?
———————————————-
Thanks.
I am familiar with the video.
Customer states the new app is not working as described.
I was hoping you have access to Print Anywhere and could test on an Android phone with HP App.
I do not have current access to the HP App.
That said, it’s true that I’m guessing at this point — Customer has not said which OS / mobile device he is using.
I will ask about the new video and testing.
Thanks - I appreciate your help.

Thank you Dragon-Fur and ferRX for your help.
I have avoided the problem by disabling Private Pickup - as the printer is private in my house that seems the easiest way round.
But, in case it helps others, the answers to your questions are that I use Windows 11 on my laptop, my printer is HP DeskJet 2810e, and the app is on my Android mobile.
On the How to video, all is fine until 5.15. At that point the video looks like the app as it was until last week, which I had no problem with. The updated app has a different layout. It does list files that have been sent to Private Pickup, and gives a bin to deselect them, but no box to select and no "Send to Printer" button. It tells me I need to confirm that I am close to the printer but does not tell me how to confirm that. My mobile has bluetooth and location enabled.

OK - thanks for the information.
I cannot test for you --
I can - and will - shunt this conversation to an appropriate team and ask they take a look.
Sure - if you don't need it, leave Private Pickup switched OFF.
Should you decide to "invite" others (remote family, friends, others) to use your printer, you will have to switch Private Pickup back on. Sounds weird, but the precaution is to let you check before printing anything not of your own creation, even from an address you've allowed access.
