Hi @KC4NMY,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It can be frustrating when you experience difficulties with Wi-Fi Direct on your HP LaserJet 110, especially if it's impacting your ability to use it as a mobile printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue.

Check Wi-Fi Direct Settings on the Printer:

  • Ensure that Wi-Fi Direct is enabled on your printer. You may need to access the printer's control panel or the web interface to do this.
  • Make sure that the Wi-Fi Direct network is not set to hidden, as hidden networks can be difficult to connect to.

Connect to Wi-Fi Direct:

  • On your mobile device or computer, go to the Wi-Fi settings and look for available Wi-Fi Direct networks.
  • Connect to the Wi-Fi Direct network broadcasted by your HP LaserJet 110. This network name may contain "DIRECT" or "HP" in its name.

Print from Mobile Device:

  • Once connected to the Wi-Fi Direct network, try printing a test page or document from your mobile device or computer to see if it works.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the HP support website and check for any available firmware updates for your printer model.

Check Compatibility:

  • Ensure that your mobile device or computer is compatible with the Wi-Fi Direct feature of the printer.

Reset Wi-Fi Direct Settings:

  • If you've previously connected to this printer with Wi-Fi Direct and had issues, you may want to reset the Wi-Fi Direct settings on the printer and start the setup process again.

Password and Security:

  • Some printers require a password or PIN to connect via Wi-Fi Direct. Make sure you have the correct credentials, if needed.

HP Smart App:

  • Consider using the HP Smart app, which can help you manage your printer settings and print from your mobile device. It may provide an easier way to connect to your printer.

Check for Interference:

  • Interference from other devices or networks could affect Wi-Fi Direct connectivity. Make sure there are no significant sources of interference nearby.

It's worth noting that Wi-Fi Direct can be a bit finicky at times, and compatibility and connectivity issues can occur. Following these steps should help you troubleshoot the problem and hopefully get your HP LaserJet 110 working with Wi-Fi Direct as a mobile printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Some limited success I managed to get into the Administration Screen of the HP 110, verify the WIFI DIrect was on, then it took me to another screen to ask for the 8 digit password on the label.  Unhappily it did not accept it so I am still back at square one.   I am also for some reason unable to connect to HP Smart Support online it says I am on a VNS? OK.  Many thanks.
