@grapture07, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To reconfigure the printer, follow the steps from the document HP Printers - No Connection after Router or Wi-Fi Settings Change.

Additionally, refer to the document Connect to a Wireless HP Printer for help.

If you still have issues, use the guided troubleshooter Troubleshooting | Wireless Printing Center for instruction to isolate and resolve the issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have the same problem - new router so no connection to my HP3720 printer - and have followed all the instructions as shown here

https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_2819263-1626554-16

several times without coming close to being able to connect and therefore use my printer.

I subscribe to HP Ink so am wasting money as well as being unable to print.

This is hugely frustrating.

Why is there not a simple fix? I was able to connect my TV, iPad and iPhone to my new router in seconds. Trying to connect my printer has involved three hours of frustration that have pushed me towards some sort of breakdown.

Any different advice would be much appreciated/

HI@grapture07,Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for taking an interest in the  HP Support Community!! After reading your post I see you want to connect the printer to the new router. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

Click here to find WPS password of your new router.

  • Make sure you know your network name and your security password is handy.
  • On the printer's control panel, go to the Network menu or touch the wireless icon and then go to settings. Select Wireless Setup Wizard. The Wireless Setup Wizard displays a list of wireless networks in the area.
  • Settings may be accessed by touching a wrench icon.
  • Select your wireless network's name from the list.
  • If you don't see your wireless network listed, you can enter your network name manually by scrolling to the bottom of the list. If you enter the name manually it must be exact, including upper and lower case characters.
  • Enter your WEP key or WPA passphrase. You must enter the key or passphrase exactly, including upper and lower case characters. Your printer should connect to your wireless network. If it does not connect, you are given the opportunity to print a Wireless Network Test report that will help you find out what may be wrong.

Follow the steps mentioned under HP Wireless Setup Wizard in the document.

Let me know how it goes.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks, but this does not help as my printer does not have a touch screen.

Hi@ChrisJS1,

Use the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button on your router to connect the printer to your wireless network.

  1. Place the printer near the Wi-Fi router.

  2. Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.

  3. On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button for at least 5 seconds or until the light starts blinking. For Tango printers, press and hold the Wireless and Power buttons on the rear of the printer until the blue bar flashes.

  4. Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS button on the router until the connection process begins.

  5. Wait for the light on the printer to stop blinking.

Connect the printer using the HP Smart app

Use the HP Smart app to connect the printer to your wireless network.

step 2

  1. Open the HP Smart app. If you do not have HP Smart, download it from 123.hp.com or your app store.

  2. If you are setting up HP Smart for the first time, you must create or sign in to an HP account to access all printer functions.

  3. Prepare the printer for a wireless network connection.

    • For most HP printers without a control panel menu: Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons until the Wireless and Power lights blink.

    • For HP Envy 6000, Pro 6400, DeskJet Plus IA 6000, and 6400 All-in-One printers: Press and hold the Wireless button on the back of the printer for five seconds until the Edge lighting flashes purple. It might take several attempts before the lighting flashes.

    • For HP Tango printers: Press and hold the Wireless button on the back of the printer for five seconds until the front light flashes blue.

    • For HP Laser (not LaserJet) printers: Press and hold the Wireless button until the Attention light blinks. The printer might restart.

  4. Within two hours, follow the guided steps in the HP Smart app to add the printer and set up the wireless connection
