Trying to enter wi-fi password on HP Laser M2070 printer. Password includes the symbol = which I cannot find on printer keyboard, Is there a way to enter wi-fi password? On other responses, it says = can only be used in network Authentication. So therefore, how do I set up the WIFI on my printer?

Hi @LeloBea,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To set up Wi-Fi on your HP Laser M2070 printer when your password includes special characters like =, follow these steps:
Access Printer Menu:
- On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button or go to the Setup menu. You might need to navigate through options like Network or Wireless Setup.
Select Wi-Fi Setup:
- Choose the option for Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Setup from the menu. This will allow your printer to search for available wireless networks.
Choose Your Network:
- After your printer finds the available networks, select your Wi-Fi network from the list.
Enter the Password:
- When prompted to enter the Wi-Fi password, use the on-screen keyboard. If the special character = is not visible, try these options:
- Some printers allow you to switch to different input methods. Look for an option to change keyboard types or input methods. Sometimes there might be an option for an extended character set.
- If = is not available, you might need to check if your router or network settings allow for alternative characters or slightly modify the password if possible. This is usually not recommended for security reasons but could be a temporary workaround.
- Connect your printer to your network using a temporary setup. Once connected, use a web browser on your computer to access the printer’s Embedded Web Server. To do this:
- Find the printer’s IP address (this is often displayed on the printer’s control panel under network settings).
- Enter the IP address into your web browser to access the EWS.
- Navigate to the network settings and enter your Wi-Fi password with the special character =.
Save and Connect:
- After entering the password, confirm or save the settings. The printer should attempt to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
Verify Connection:
- Once connected, print a network configuration page to ensure the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network. This can typically be done through the printer’s control panel under Network or Print Reports.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
